A lovely pub right in the centre of Bakewell. Friendly staff although they were very busy. Some confusion on checkin about our tesco vouchers but all sorted.
Hotel was clean, comfortable and in the centre of Bakewell. What wasn't so good was being asked to pay again for one of the rooms, when we had paid for both rooms in full in advance.
It was a lovely one night stay. It was very hectic due to social distancing being observed. We were shown to the room and it was lovely. Despite there being a minor problem with the shower not draining quickly enough the room was excellent. There was some confusion about parking, there is none other than public car parks and some of these are used for markets so there's no overnight parking. We had to keep our bikes locked up either downstairs or on the car, we chose on the car and kept it as close as possible
Room was clean and well decorated. And the location was good. Although Bakewell does get extremely busy with traffic.

What a shame
The pub has so much potential. Brilliant location fab outside area if warm enough. Bedroom was cold and dingy. The owners were dreadful dismissive , unhelpful and definitely did not want to be there. However, Reece the waiter saved the day as he was superb!
The welcome at check in was frosty and we weren’t made to feel welcome. My wife was left shivering cold and soaking wet in the middle of the bar whilst the hotel tried to work out if the room was prepaid or not.
The customer should have been the priority here!
The room was excellent, very spacious, clean and modern.
We didn’t eat at the hotel because there wasn’t space available.
There was a younger female member of staff who was excellent and really cared.
Pleasant place to stay in Bakewell. Room was lovely, super decor. Staff were pleasant and we had dinner there as well which was very good. I found the bed a little hard on one side, and the shower was electric and not particularly high pressure, but overall it was still a decent place to spend a night.
Lovely place to stay in Bakewell. Only downside is there was no free parking due to tables being moved into guest‘a parking lot because of COVID. We didn’t mind paying for parking, however as we were sitting outside; friends or regulars of the pub came and the staff moved their cars around so they could park for free.
The pub could have at least covered the parking fee for overnight (£1) or shuffled cars for us as well as friends/regulars.
Again it was lovely quiet place to stay and would stay here again if we travel north to this area again.
One night stay as part of a few days away. The location is excellent, right in the centre of Bakewell. We had dinner and breakfast which we found of very good quality and value. The rooms are in a separate building just a few steps away from the main pub. They are well decorated and modern. There is also a small car park available. Would definitely stay again.
We stayed for three nights so we could do some waling in the area. The room and ensuite were really nice , just think the bed could have been bigger than a double to make it even better. The food was very good although rather expensive but there were large portions so on one occasion my husband and I shared! The parking was an issue as someone parked behind us and although we put a note on the cars to inform him, we had to get the management to get him to move it when we wanted to leave. The outside area is lovely. Staff very helpful.

Room was ok, the bed was in need of a new mattress. The hallway leading in to the room smelled terrible, like a deep fryer. Overall looking tired.

Great location to explore surrounding area. First rate breakfast
The location was absolutely perfect, the parking is a real issues though which I guess is due to the central location...but only 5 spaces of which, some are taken by staff. The bedroom we had was directly above the kitchen and it was pretty noisy late night.
A lovely spacious room with a great walk in shower and the accommodation is in a great location.

Unexpected stay
We stayed at the Peacock on our way from Edinburgh to Buckinghamshire - a spur of the moment decision.
The staff at the Peacock were all very pleasant. The room was small, but had everything you needed and was clean. The access corridor was a bit of a mess.
We had a curry in the bar, which was excellent, but a bit on the large side.
