Our stay at the Avignon Grand Hotel was superb. We had reserved a triple room through Expedia, even though it was just my wife and me, because of the great price. The room was excellent (so roomy) and the location was convenient to all the sites in central Avignon.

Very nice hotel. We had a Superior room, very spacious, and a Garden View room, two bedrooms, two bathrooms, one toilet in this room. The balcony is wonderful. The room could use a little updating but overall was wonderful. It is right next to the train station and a block from the entrance of the walled city. Parking is under the hotel but you need to turn right at the corner before the hotel. Very convenient.

Very expensive car park which is difficult to get into and can be easily missed resulting in driving around Avignon. They attempted to take €150 euro deposit which we knew nothing about. Could not find information anywhere on Expedia terms and condition at which point management argued that we were aware. The credit card machine then failed and they requested other form of payment which we did not have. Not the best welcome. The property is quite dated and needs upgrading. But that being said, was comfortable. The breakfast was very good with plenty of choice.

The location of the Aston La Scala is perfect: Across the street from the greenbelt park, easy walking distance to the beach and to old town Nice, close to good shopping. The staff was especially helpful when I left my phone in the taxi. They spoke with the person who answered my phone and got it back. The view from the rooftop bar could be the best in the city. We liked the hotel so much that we returned for a few days at the end of our trip. We highly recommend the Aston La Scaa
