You simply cannot beat the location of Hotel Byron. Being right in the heart of Athens made our trip so effortless—we stepped outside and were immediately surrounded by historic sights, lively streets, and great places to eat. Walking to the Acropolis and exploring Plaka was seamless. A perfect, convenient base for sightseeing in Athens!

We stayed at Hotel Byron in Athens, and unfortunately, the only real positive aspect of our experience was its excellent location, within easy walking distance of the city's main attractions. The rooms are quite dated and worn, with old furniture and an overall lack of maintenance. Even basic details were overlooked—we were provided with a hand towel that had a hole in it, and only one set of towels. The biggest issue, however, was the air conditioning, which did not work at all. The remote control was not communicating with the unit, making it impossible to turn it on. When I brought this to the attention of the person at reception, rather than offering assistance, he argued that the AC was not broken and suggested that it wasn't necessary because the weather was supposedly cold. This was September in Athens, with temperatures above 23°C! I asked him to have someone check the AC and provide an additional set of towels, explaining that we would be out sightseeing and returning in approximately three hours. When we came back, absolutely nothing had been done. I had to return to reception just to request the towels again, and the AC was never fixed. As a result, we had no choice but to sleep with the windows open. The rooftop terrace does offer a lovely view of Athens, but unfortunately, it closes relatively early, at 8:00 PM, preventing guests from enjoying the nighttime views or taking evening photographs. Overall, while the location is undeniably convenient, the outdate
