We enjoyed the hot tub, fire pit, taking walks to the river, and relaxing in the house. It's a beautiful setting with lots of room to roam. Communication with the host was great with quick responses to messages. We would love to return!
We had a great time. The house was perfect for us with the fireplace being the cherry on top. It created a cozy space making it hard to want to go outside and brave the cold. The views on the property were great and worth exploring.
The house is set on 10+ acres - beautiful surroundings. Kids loved the hot tub/jacuzzi, fire pit and swimming in the river. Very pleasant porches to sit and read, or play cards.
We loved our stay at this beautiful property. The house and property were extremely well maintained. The online photos don’t do justice to how beautiful and peaceful this home is. There were a lot of thoughtful touches that let us know the owners care about the renters and their feedback. Overall 5/5.
Me and my friends had a fun get together/bachelorette at this house. The pictures do not do it justice! I highly recommend they update them, because it was way better than I expected. The views were amazing. The fire pit and hot tub were great. The house was super clean and nice. The beds were comfortable. All together it was great and exactly what we wanted! I highly recommend staying here!!
Loved that the main bedroom had it's own bathroom but it had poor lighting. Internet service was fair. The additional porches were a plus. The firepit area was nice, the solo stove was a nice touch. Could use a set of steps to get in as it was a bit sketchy walking the whole way around in dim lighting. Overall, I would definitely stay there again!
OMG!!! This house is wonderful. The views, hot tub, fire pit and quietness is to die for! The view from the master bedroom is so beautiful. Words alone doesn’t do the property justice. We even got a chance to meet Wanda and Glen. They are truly amazing people. Thank you!!! I’ll be back!!!
The property was absolutely breathtaking! I would book again based on the views and grounds alone! The main floor of the house only had a bathroom on the other side of the master bedroom, if you are planning a trip with multiple families this can get frustrating. The basement had ping pong, which the kids loved and the hot tub was easy to refill and use! The basement also had the washer and dryer and the host did a nice job of keeping it stocked with detergent and cleaners. The hosts were quick to reply when we ran into any issues (hot tub chemicals and hot water issues) and were quick to make everything right! I think it would be in their favor to have electronic locks added to their doors and update some electricity/ wiring in their basement, but overall beautiful stay that felt like a nice hideaway.
The house and property were beautiful. My husband got to fish a few times in the river. We walked on the property a lot. Communication was great with Glen. He was very quick to respond to problems. There were some hornets outside the house and coming into the house, but it was taken care of right away. Also, due to the cold They weren't a problem The second and third day while we stayed. The mountains in the background from master bedroom were beautiful. Every morning there were deer in the back yard. We went to safari park and zoo, natural bridge, and Monacan Indian museum while we stayed here. We went to Vito's, Amherst corner restaurant, and the briar patch in Amherst for dinners/lunch.
What a great house! We had so much fun. The property is spacious and had room for our large family. The location and mountain views were perfect for our autumn weekend. The fire pit and porches are perfect for star gazing. The rooms were well appointed and the beds were all cozy. I would highly recommend a stay and we will be returning soon.
Not enough positive words, the stars were bright, plenty of games and towels, well stocked with toiletries. The beds were comfortable, there were plenty of kitchen utilities. The views were breath taking and peaceful. We had a lovely vacation away from the chaos of home.
We stayed for 4 days over our son's wedding weekend. The host was flexible with allowing pets as well as parking the rv in the driveway as we were traveling for the event. Private and convenient to Lovingston Winery where the wedding took place.
Nice, peaceful and secluded. The house is very old which is charming, however some lights didn’t work, the hot tub was not usable, and there was a wasp problem out back that resulted in two stings. The house was clean inside. Some things inside and outside could use a little upkeep.

Gorgeous and relaxing!
Had a great time, everything was clean and as listed. I would stay here again. Thanks so much!
We had a wonderful time and can't thank Glen (and Wanda) enough. We loved the peace and quiet close to nature and the pristine water of the Tye River. We had an amazing time fishing, swiming, floating our week away! We would definitely stay here again!
This is a beautiful old home right on the tye river with beautiful views all around. Easy check in/out process and owner and property mangers respond quickly to any questions. I highly recommend staying here if you’re in the area.

Rustic, clean, easy
The location and viuews are great- Its a great house that had all we needed. Its remote enough that you feel far away, but close enough to "stuff" that you can do day trips ior grocery shopping easily. I would highly recommend this property
