We really loved the location and staff at this hotel - the view is BEAUTIFUL over-looking the lake and was the highlight of the hotel and they've created cute decks in front of each room which are nice to relax on. The rooms and beds are fine but we did have bugs (including a cockroach) in the room. I understand this is sometimes common in Costa Rica so we try to be understanding about that, but it did poorly impact our night's sleep. Ultimately, we were happy we chose to stay at the lake rather than in La Fortuna's main town area.
PARA EL CASO DE LA HABITACION DEBO DECIR QUE ES MUY BASICA, CUENTA CON SABANAS LIMPIAS AUNQUE TANTO LA HABITACION COMO EL BAÑO NO ESTABAN DEL TODO LIMPIOS, COLCHONES DELGADOS NO MUY COMODOS, CAMAS MUY SENCILLAS Y UN ROPERO QUE EN EL CASO DE LAS 2 HABITACIONES QUE RENTAMOS SE VE QUE NO HABIAN LIMPIADO HACE UN TIEMPO. EL FOCO DEL VENTILADOR EN AMBAS NO ENCENDIA. YO DIRIA QUE PUDIERAN MEJORARLO MAS. TENIAMOS MUCHAS EXPECTATIVAS EN ESTE HOTEL Y FRANCAMENTE QUEDAMOS DECEPCIONADOS SALVO LA BUENA ATENCION DE SU GENTE.
The hotel is on a hill above the road with a view of Lake Arenal from the porch of each room and fairly quiet. We took advantage of the hotel's offer to do some laundry for us and were pleased to have clean clothes delivered to our room later the same afternoon. Ate at the attached restaurant and the food was good. Nice place to rest and relax.
We stayed for one night and didn't have a meal at this hotel so my review is not all encompassing. This is a small family run motel with approx 10 very basic rooms. Other than beds, linens, toilet, shower and sink, there wasnt much else to the room. Rooms were clean and beds were relatively comfortable. Wifi reception was poor. Each room had a nice porch facing Arenal lake (although there was no view of the volcano) so most of our time was spent out there. Also be advised the rooms are just above the main road and there is a school directly behind the row of rooms. Service staff were wonderful.
Overall good, affordale place to stay for a night if you're in the area.
We stayed as a family of 4 in this hotel which is a family owned and managed place. The owner Milton is an amazing host who runs this place with his son and daughter. They are a very good hosts and the place has an amazing lake view. We had a good time as Milton is very helpful in suggesting the tours in the local area as well as in other parts of Cost Rica. They serve amazing food onsite and we loved the food and didn't want to have the food in the main area. This hotel is bit far away from the main town so people should just keep that in mind while booking this place. It probably will cost them $40-60 one way to go and come back from the La Fortuna area where all the activities and restaurants are located but its a economical place so probably the taxi fare will offset the cost of the hotel. The room was nice and beds were comfortable. The bathrooms can be upgraded a bit and closet and bathroom door needs painting.
Wonderful artsy Reno of a nondescript motel with incredible view. Hip young Tikis
run place. Great food, and is a stand out for being cheap yet trendy. Loved being there and seeing young Costa Rican creativity.
