The hotel just opened up again so they need time to become the best. But its affordable and the staff were very nice and accommodating. The location is great too.
I had a terrible experience at this hotel! I'd made my reservation weeks in advance and when I checked in, they had double booked numerous rooms and didn't have one available for me. It was late and I was tired after traveling all day, so this was not a welcome event. Apparently, the employee who worked the previous evening made quite a few mistakes. They finally said they had a room for me but when I found it, it was dilapidated and down a very dark outside hallway with nobody around. I went back down and requested another room and when she handed me that key, there was already a man in that bed! After about 1 1/2 hours of dealing with walking all around the property with very little lighting and men loitering all around; I told the Manager I needed to find an alternative for the night. By this time it was close to 10:00pm and everything was already booked in town. I finally drove out to the Holiday Inn Express and asked around for anyone that I knew attending my same training. Someone took pity on me and allowed me to crash in their room on the pullout couch. I also asked for a receipt showing that I had been credited for the room I never received but the Manager couldn't get the printer to work. Sigh...
Eeww!! Dirty from the minute we walked in the door. Stood around at front desk a bit then noticed a sign. Call this number. ( It was 3:00 in the afternoon) Took a few minutes for staff to come to desk. We gave our name and signed in then were told pool was closed for repairs. My wife asked if they had the exercise room (shown in photos) and were told it was closed for repairs. Then we were told the property had been shut down for a while and they were trying to get it back open. Dirt and trash piled around in various locations. Lobby restroom was awful. Again trash and dirt piled in corner. Toilet lid caked on dirt. Made it to room noticing lots of gouges etc along the way. In the room the arm chair had caked on soil to blackness. Stains in carpet. Bed was nice and looked new. Only part of the room we wanted to touch. TV would not work. Called the front desk. He said he would be right there. 45 minutes to an hour later called back. He said he got sidetracked. Several minutes p and rlate he showed up and replaced direct TV box to get TV going but volume control wouldn't word nor on and off TV with using controls in back of TV. The toilet was super short and made you feel like you were almost sitting on a hole in the floor with loose lid. It would not flush. Again, ew!!!
