"The King's Little Pathway" spans the El Chorro gorge at a height of 100m. It was built in the early 1900s as an access path between nearby hydroelectric plants. The bridge got it's name in 1921 when King Alfonso XIII crossed it to help inaugurate a new dam.

The path rises to the bridge from either side of the gorge, snaking dramatically along the sheer cliff face. In recent years the path has been closed to all but rock-climbers, as many portions of the pathway had crumbled away.

However, the Spanish government recently completed a three-year restoration of the pathway, including guardrails, and it just opened yesterday - March 28, 2015! Also, bear in mind that the path is one-way, so check the return bus schedule, or book a return crossing as well!
